“This has probably been the most challenging album we’ve ever made. The world feels more uncertain than ever. The pace of change, the sheer volume of content and the rise of AI have made it a strange, exciting but also overwhelming time to be creating. Almost overnight, it feels like what it means to be a musician or an artist has shifted.”- Chase & Status

Let’s take a look at the stellar lineup of artists who helped shape Generic Everything.

Skrillex: Electronic music heavyweight Skrillex crosses paths with Chase & Status on “Essa Ta Quente.” Bringing, a bass-heavy sound with a latin influence.

Little Simz: Masterfully lends her razor-sharp delivery and undeniable presence to the single “Carnage.” Her cinematic, poetic cadence fits hand-in-glove with the duo’s intense production.

J Hus & IRAH: Opening up the record on ‘Disgruntled,’ J Hus brings his trademark swagger alongside jungle/reggae force IRAH. IRAH also doubles down later in the tracklist, teaming up with Col3trane on ‘Shutdown.’

Giggs: UK rap pioneer Giggs brings his famously heavy, delivery to the track ‘Timber‘ fusing rap with D&B.

“Coming from the DnB scene, new technology has always been part of what we do. We’re excited by where it’s going and the opportunities it opens up for more people to create. But it also feels easier than ever to fall into repetition, to reach for something predictable.”

D Double E: Grime royalty D Double E steps up on ‘Levels.‘ His iconic ad-libs and rapid-fire cadence bring an unmistakable old-school energy to the project.

Blanco & Finesse Kid: The drill-infused stylistic flair of Blanco, alongside Finesse Kid, elevates ‘Juggin,‘ adding another distinct regional element to the album.

Debbie: Providing a soulful counterweight to the heavy bass drops, rising R&B star Debbie stuns on ‘Gone Too Far,’ a track that highlights the melodic emotional depth Chase & Status are capable of orchestrating.

Saam Sultan & Ledbyher: Rounding out the features, Saam Sultan anchors ‘Tension,‘ while Ledbyher brings a hypnotic vocal edge to “Influence.

Next, they’ll take Generic Everything on the road, with their 2027 tour running across the EU and UK from February 18 to April 3.

This year’s theme reimagines the venue as a decaying industrial ecosystem, with stages built out as control rooms, ventilation chambers, reactor cores, and industrial machinery scattered across Factory Town’s raw nightlife district. It’s a heavier production concept than past editions, leaning into a dystopian, mechanical aesthetic rather than a straightforward haunted house vibe.

Leading the charge is the Factory Town debut of drum and bass outfit Chase & Status, alongside Swedish house and progressive staple Eric Prydz, genre-bending duo Gorgon City, psy-techno artist Indira Paganotto, hitmakers MEDUZA, Nora En Pure, UK act Prospa, disco-house name Purple Disco Machine, breakout artist salute, and UK garage veteran Todd Edwards. Hard to believe that Eric Prydz has yet to take the decks at Factory Town but the time has finally come.

The back-to-back sets are where things get particularly interesting for the underground crowd. Azzecca B2B Cole Knight, DJ Boring B2B ATRIP, and Joseph Capriati B2B Seth Troxler all appear on the bill, along with Âme DJ B2B Marcel Dettmann, Detroit techno originator Kevin Saunderson B2B Julya Karma, Odd Mob B2B Cassian, Jamie Jones B2B Franky Rizardo, and Clüb De Combat B2B SLAMM. These pairings tend to be a highlight of Hocus Pocus each year, giving fans sets they won’t catch anywhere else on the festival circuit.

House and high-energy programming rounds out the rest of the lineup with Kerri Chandler, Eli Escobar, Jayda G, and Chloé Caillet handling the melodic and soulful end of things. Also on the bill: Apollonia, AYYBO, Malugi, ChaseWest, Bushbaby, and Slugg.

For the techno and experimental contingent, Dax J, Conducta, Layton Giordani, Mall Grab, Matthew Dear, Skream, Special Request, X Club., and Yanamaste are all confirmed to play across the weekend.

Cypress End Stage Takeovers

Hocus Pocus is also leaning further into its Miami roots this year with stage takeovers at Cypress End from local nightlife institutions getbusy and Electric Pickle. Each brings its own crowd and sound to the festival, a nod to the city’s underground scene that helped shape the event’s identity in the first place.

Three-day GA and VIP passes for Hocus Pocus 2026 are on sale now here.

Among the most buzzed-about acts is John Summit, who’s back after a sold-out 2024 show at Olympic Parc to headline the Bell OASIS stage. Illenium also returns, this time with a solo set following his explosive back-to-back with Excision in 2022. Making his festival debut, Steve Aoki is expected to bring his signature high-energy performance style, complete with genre-blending tracks. Other major names include Alesso, known for his deep, atmospheric sound, and MAU P, a Montreal favourite who’s no stranger to commanding the stage at both OSHEAGA and ÎLESONIQ.

This year’s lineup also features several exclusive sets that are sure to stand out. Tape B and Levity will perform together for the first time in Canada, offering a treat for bass music fans. Ray Volpe and Kai Wachi are also teaming up for their Canadian debut as a duo, promising a heavy-hitting set. UK legends Chase & Status will perform together in Montreal for the first time, bringing their signature drum and bass energy to the festival. Rising acts like BUNT., and the ever-vibrant Sofi Tukker round out a lineup that blends fresh talent with established stars.

ÎLESONIQ 2024 Standouts

Looking back at 2024, the festival delivered some unforgettable moments. Subtronics lit up the Bell OASIS stage with a bass-heavy, high-energy set that had the crowd buzzing. Another standout was the back-to-back performance by Green Velvet and Patrick Topping, who fused house and techno into a seamless, dance-fuelled experience. These performances helped define the vibe of last year’s event and set the stage for an even bigger celebration in 2025.

If you haven’t secured your tickets for ÎLESONIQ 2025 yet, now’s the time to act—passes are still available but moving quickly. Current options include the 2-Day General Admission Pass, priced around $250, which gives you access to the full weekend experience. For those looking for a more elevated view and added perks, the RBCxMUSIC Gold Pass is available for approximately $370 . Additional premium options like the Sky Lounge offer exclusive access and amenities for a more luxurious festival experience. All ticket types and details can be found on the official ÎLESONIQ website, where you can also explore flexible payment plans. With the 10th anniversary lineup drawing major buzz, it’s a good idea to grab your pass before they sell out.

The collaboration has been building anticipation since its surprise debut at Coachella, where Stormzy made a surprise appearance to perform the track. Subsequent performances at Ushuaia Ibiza and Chase & Status’ massive Milton Keynes Bowl show, with a crowd of 45,000, have only served to heighten the excitement surrounding ‘BACKBONE.’

The duo’s recent chart-topping success with ‘Baddadan’ featuring IRAH, Flowdan, Trigga, and Takura has solidified their status as global electronic music icons. With support from the world’s biggest DJs, including Tiësto, Martin Garrix, Afrojack, and Dom Dolla, ‘Baddadan’ spent an impressive 15 weeks in the UK Top 10.

Chase & Status are a British electronic music duo consisting of producers and DJs Saul Milton and Will Kennard. Renowned for their innovative blend of drum and bass, dubstep, and other electronic genres, they have achieved global success with hits like ‘What You Got,’ ‘End Credits,’ and ‘Lost and Found.’ Their music has been featured in countless films and television shows, solidifying their status as cultural icons.

Disclosure

Award-winning production duo/brothers, Disclosure, are one of dance music’s most successful acts. With iconic breakout tracks like ‘Latch‘ and ‘You & Me‘ (later remixed notoriously by Flume), it didn’t take long for this pair’s career to catapult to new heights. This duo knows how to put on a live show, and they are not an act you seen on lineups often. In fact, they just performed their first live set since 2016 earlier this year at Primavera Sound in Barcelona. So don’t miss your chance to see them in action on Saturday! I promise it’ll be a good time.

REZZMAU5

REZZMAU5 is the collaborative project everyone’s been buzzing about, and for good reason. The pair first teamed up in 2021 for their collaboration, ‘Hypnocurrency,’ leaving fans begging for more. They officially teamed up as REZZMAU5 last year, marking the new b2b project with its debut release, ‘Infraliminal‘ on mau5trap. They’ve since performed a few coveted REZZMAU5 sets, including at Canada’s Veld Music Festival and most recently, Belgium’s Tomorrowland. While Rezz and deadmau5 alone might be easy to catch on a lineup, a REZZMAU5 set is still few and far between, so don’t miss you chance to see these two incredible acts combine their unique sounds on Friday night!

Levity

This trio from Chicago might just be the most talked-about EDM act of the past year. They first appeared on everyone’s radar after Electric Forest 2023, in which they were a last-minute replacement for another artist at the Honeycomb stage. The set, which they later uploaded to SoundCloud, took the world by storm, showcasing their energetic stage presence, crowd interaction, and a unique blend of all different genres. Levity will be bringing the vibes to HARD Summer on Saturday. Don’t miss out on the fun!

Mary Droppinz

I first had the opportunity to witness a Mary Droppinz set at Deadrocks earlier this month. I was blown away by the energy she emanated from behind the decks, with her nonstop smiling, dancing, and mixing banger after banger. She also brought her own dancers to perform on stage, who brought up the vibes of the set even more. Covering everything from house to dubstep to UK rap to riddim, Mary Droppinz defies genre boundaries. That’s exactly what makes her live performances so entertaining, so don’t miss your chance to catch Mary on Saturday!

Chase & Status

If you’ve been to a festival within the last year, you’ve likely heard ‘Baddadan,’ the mega-collab between Chase & Status, Bou, Flown, IRAH, Trigga, and Takura. While this drum & bass hit has taken the festival circuit by storm, Chase & Status has been on the map for a lot longer than its July 2023 release date. This duo is among legends in the UK DnB community, with releases that date back to the early 2000s. If you’re a fan of high-energy drum & bass, or witnessing iconic acts live, don’t miss HARD Summer’s special guest, Chase & Status, on Saturday.

Two-day GA, GA+, and VIP HARD Summer festival passes are available now. Visit HARD’s official website for more info!

Starting Friday, Miami is expected to experience heavy rain and strong winds on Ultra Day One. After all, this could put a serious damper on some of the biggest events of the year.

The National Weather Service has issued a Flood Watch and Wind Advisory for Miami-Dade and Broward counties. They are predicting up to 6 inches of rain in some areas. That’s not exactly ideal weather for Ultra with multiple stages, that attracts tens of thousands of attendees.

Despite the rain, possibility of flooding and strong winds, organizers of Ultra Music Festival have not yet made any announcements regarding schedule changes for Day One. This may result in delayed or cancelled performances.

Armin van Buuren, Peggy Gou, Chase & Status, David Guetta, Miss Monique and Orbital are among the acts on the bill for this year’s event. Find the set times and streaming schedule for Ultra Miami 2024 here.

So, Miami festival-goers, keep an eye on the latest weather updates and be prepared for anything. Throw some rain gear in your backpack, dust off those waterproof phone cases, and hope for the best.
