Breakaway has built its identity around bringing multi-stage, two-day festival production to markets that don’t always get that kind of treatment from the major festival circuit. What started as a single-city event has grown into a touring series that now spans much of the country, and the brand is positioning 2027 as its biggest investment yet — both in terms of production quality and the size of the talent bookings.

Beyond the festivals themselves, Breakaway has been building out a broader entertainment operation over the past few years. Those pieces work alongside Breakaway Presents, the company’s concert division, and Breakaway Projects, its record label and artist development wing — all feeding into a larger ecosystem the brand hopes keeps fans engaged outside of just festival weekends.

The 2027 announcement comes as Breakaway is still in the middle of a record-setting 2026 run. The festival has drawn nearly 160,000 attendees across its first seven weekends this year, with six more still on the books, including stops in Michigan, Massachusetts, Philadelphia, and the Carolinas before the season wraps with first-time visits to Utah and Houston in the fall. This year also saw Breakaway make its New York City debut at Under The K Bridge Park. Lineups across the 2026 season have leaned heavily on dance music heavyweights like FISHER, John Summit, KETTAMA, Subtronics, and Tiësto.

This isn’t a new relationship so much as a scaled-up one. Breakaway was one of the earlier festival brands to work with Hiyo as the beverage company found its footing in live music, and what started as a handful of festival integrations has now grown into a multi-market partnership spanning both companies’ national expansions.

The timing lines up with Breakaway’s biggest year yet. The festival is running its largest U.S. season to date in 2026, hitting 13 markets across the country. Hiyo, meanwhile, keeps expanding its retail footprint, with the drinks now sold in more than 9,000 locations including Target and Costco, alongside a growing digital sales presence.

The deal also taps into a broader shift happening in the beverage industry. Data from Statista Consumer Insights, cited via Boardroom, shows Gen Z drinkers of legal age reporting lower rates of regular beer, wine, and spirits consumption compared to older generations. Breakaway says the goal is to keep diversifying what’s available on site as those preferences shift.

They take home memories that last long after the music ends,” Fraccalvieri said. “What we’re seeing is that people aren’t looking to experience those moments any differently; they just want more choices in how they show up for them. That’s what makes this partnership feel so natural.“

Hiyo makes what it calls social tonics, non-alcoholic drinks built with stress-relieving and mood-boosting ingredients, aiming to give people something closer to the buzz of a drink without the alcohol. The lineup comes in six flavors: Blackberry Lemon, Passion Fruit Tangerine, Peach Mango, Pineapple Coconut, Strawberry Guava, and Watermelon Lime. Beyond Breakaway, the brand has also worked with Live Nation to get its cans into major venues around the country.

Breakaway, for its part, has built out well beyond its original festival format over the years. What began as a single-market touring festival now runs as a two-day, multi-stage event in every city on its route, alongside pop-up series like Breakaway Presents in Miami and Las Vegas, and a record label and artist-management wing called Breakaway Projects.

With both brands scaling nationally at the same time, the Breakaway Hiyo partnership looks less like a one-off sponsorship and more like a long-term bet on where festival-goers’ drink preferences are headed.

Day 1: Zedd, GRYFFIN, and a Nonstop Party

Breakaway Dallas launched with a bang on Saturday as over 12,000 fans packed into Fair Park for a full day of music, energy, and community. Headliners Zedd and GRYFFIN lit up the night with their signature sounds—Zedd delivering crisp, high-octane production, and GRYFFIN bringing melodic, emotional highs that had the crowd in sync from start to finish.

The supporting acts brought just as much fire. TroyBoi delivered bass-heavy trap and hip-hop cuts, BUNT. blended genre-fluid, feel-good grooves, and Ship Wrek kept the energy bouncing with infectious house beats. KREAM and Daniel Allan closed out the day with immersive sets that sustained the momentum deep into the night.

The 2024 edition of Breakaway Bay Area, which returned to the Bill Graham Civic Auditorium in San Francisco. was a spectacular experience. It brought tons of great bass, mesmerizing audiovisuals, electrifying pyrotechnics, and importantly, a lot of fans just having a great time jamming to amazing music on the weekend of October 25-26. Just like last year’s event, Breakaway Bay Area 2024 was a celebration of not just the world-class dance/electronic music that wowed the crowd over those two days, but also of PLUR culture, festival lifestyle, and all-around infectious fun alongside friends and beautiful strangers who love the same kind of vibes.

These same vibes also perfectly align well with the Halloween theme that the festival had for the weekend, especially seeing many attendees dressed in colorful and outstanding costumes. Here is the review of the 2024 edition of Breakaway Bay Area, an event that brought out the vibrant Halloween atmosphere that connects perfectly well with a festival environment that ensures the bass and synths from the artists remain top-notch from start to finish.

Breakaway Bay Area 2024 continued enhancing the vibes with each set from the artists

October 25th had the likes of Cat Liu, REMK, Jaded, Ian Asher, Alok, Wax Motif, and Marshmello providing phenomenal entertainment at Bill Graham Civic Auditorium. Alok’s set merged the best of electro house with techno, which also perfectly teamed up with stunning utilization of pyros illuminating the stage and lasers moving around the venue. As soon as Marshmello got on the stage, the crowd went wild and jammed out to great hits such as ‘Alone’ and ‘Here With Me’. His performances proved why he has received multiple awards and nominations from notable award shows like the American Music Awards, Billboard Music Awards, and iHeartRadio Music Awards.

October 26th (Day 2) had the likes of L4NCELOT, Kastra, Control Freak, Wreckno, INZO, a powerful b2b set of Joyryde and Habstrakt, and RL Grime throw down some fire beats. The B2B set of Joyryde and Habstrakt was just bass house at its perfect level and RL Grime showed why he is a top superstar trap and bass by unleashing banger after banger that no one could not stop grooving to. Additionally, the festival also witnessed the return of the ‘Launch Pad’ stage, the smaller stage of Breakaway Bay Area located on the left side of the auditorium that equally producing sets of spectacular music over the festival’s two days. ‘Silent Disco‘ also returned to the festival as well for those two days, providing three stations of awesome music from local up-and-coming producers for the attendees who were looking for a break from the main stage and ‘Launch Pad’.

The cool vibes at the festival

Breakaway Bay Area 2024 overall was an unforgettable experience that allowed the attendees to discover a lot of fun things to do while jamming out to very great dance/electronic music. The festival’s sponsors also were attractions that hooked the attendees to enjoy the products that were at the festival as well. The sponsors were Celsius, Beatbox, Cuervo, Bacardi, Lunchbox, Loose Lucys, Jeeter, and LA-based nonprofit End Overdose, which has its main goal to end drug overdose-related deaths.

In addition, the merchandise available for the fans to purchase at the festival were also unforgettable as well, ranging from cute pins to mesmerizing fans. This 2024 edition of Breakaway Bay Area does definitely will motivate anyone who attended over the weekend to look forward to another exciting edition of the festival next year.
