Charli XCX – Boom Clap (Marcus Schossow Remix)

Fresh off an eventful North American tour, Marcus Schossow has released yet another anthemic remix to add to our libraries. The Swedish star set the bar high with his One Republic ‘Love Runs Out’ remix from this past summer, and as he prepares to delve into the winter at Amsterdam Dance Event (ADE) he’s raised it yet again with a progressive remix of Charli XCX‘s sensational hit, ‘Boom Clap‘.

The original formula used to concoct ‘Boom Clap’ is one fueled primarily by powerful chords, an uplifting melody and of course those signature booming kicks and crisp claps. So why fix what isn’t broken? Schossow capitalizes on the tracks original elements and carries them over into a dance friendly format. Boasting kicks drums rally in the build up as synths wistfully fuse in; Charli’s vocals are filtered for a more electrifying experience, and they’ve been kept as upbeat and inspiring as ever. The melody’s mix of airy synth chords and snappy percussion is fittingly whimsical as well, making this an excellent follow up to his One Republic remix, indeed. Marcus Schossow’s ‘Boom Clap’ remix is out now on Atlantic Records and can be purchased via Beatport.

Australian native Elk Road takes Charli XCX’s pop hit ‘Boom Clap’ for a spin and places the original under a moonlit setting. A pulsating guitar progression acts as the simplistic foundation for the official remix. Many producers nowadays are under the impression that stuffing a production with countless layers will result in a smooth final product. Elk Road brilliantly spaces out his purposeful layers, giving each element incorporated clear motivation. Think ‘Eye Of The Tiger’ from Rocky meets ‘Nightcall’ from Drive meets My Chemical Romance. The innovative remix will be released on July 29th under Atlantic Records.
