The extended Friday set covers the records that shaped his sets over the years alongside the sounds pushing trance forward now. The vinyl set is reserved for guests on official hotel packages and Early Access ticket holders ahead of Saturday’s five areas opening up.

See A State of Trance’s first-wave announcement below.

Vini Vici and Space 92 Go Back-to-Back

Saturday’s headline pairing is Vini Vici b2b Space 92. The Israeli psytrance duo and the French techno producer released ‘Free My Soul‘ with CERES on Armada Music in August, a record that pulls psytrance and techno onto the same track.

Listen to ‘Free My Soul’ below.

Trance Veterans Across Both Nights

Ferry Corsten is booked for a Saturday back-to-back, with his partner to be announced later. Giuseppe Ottaviani & Hypaton are also on Saturday, along with Talla 2XLC.

Friday leans on longtime trance names. Aly & Fila b2b John O’Callaghan puts three of them on one set, while Dash Berlin, Push, Alex M.O.R.P.H., Richard Durand and Ørjan Nilsen fill out the Friday program across four stages.

Saturday also brings newer pairings like NRG2000 b2b SUPERSTRINGS, plus sets from Key4050, Mark Sixma and Sarah de Warren. The brand confirmed its 2027 dates in August, and more artists and program details are still to come.

Day tickets are now on sale alongside weekend tickets, so fans can pick one night or the full weekend. The event is 18+. Tickets and more info are available at astateoftrance.com.

Both artists are essential pieces of Trance music and are, frankly, living legends. On one hand, Paul van Dyk basically changed Trance music forever with his ’90s international hit, ‘For an Angel’, and has since released eleven full-length albums and was crowned DJ Mag’s #1, aside from, you know, little things like touring the world and marking the lives of countless people with his emotional sounds.

On the other side of the ring, Egyptian icons Aly & Fila are considered trance royalty, known for building their ‘Future Sound of Egypt’ (FSOE) empire over two decades. Through countless defining records, their label, and their radio show, they have heavily shaped the genre globally.

‘Is This Only a Dream?’

The single is a Trance & Techno hybrid masterpiece, carefully engineered by some of the best artists the world has seen consistently release for a combined total of over half a century. Aly & Fila say, “We are very proud to collab with our good friend Paul Van Dyk and to release the Anthem for Dreamstate”. And we are too.

Crafted by two masters of the Uplifting Trance sound, ‘Is This Only a Dream?’ is driven by fluttering arpeggios and airy atmospherics, beneath chugging rhythms and a pulsing low-end. The track’s ethereal vocalisations and rhetorical vocal hook fill the space with cinematic wonder and a mirage-like euphoria, embodying the signature vibe and creative freedom both Paul and Aly & Fila have to offer.

Last year, EDC Las Vegas held its biggest edition yet where thousands of people trekked to the desert for this annual tradition. Friday artists included Adventure Club, David Guetta, Steve Aoki, Adam Beyer, and more. Saturday boasted Alison Wonderland, Dillon Francis, Zedd, Tiesto, Four Tet, Aly & Fila, and much more. Sunday closed out into the early morning with Sara Landry, Excision, Seven Lions, Mau P, Martin Garrix, John Summit, and many many more. Not to mention the plethora of back-to-back sets that left attendees in a frenzy. It’s anyone’s guess as to who will play this year. Jot your guesses down and get ready for some fun.

We can bet the event shall host its nine stages ranging from hardstyle, drum and bass, dubstep, trance, house, techno, and all your favorite sounds. Art cars will boost the sounds of independent artists for your journey across, around, and in between the speedway. What’s more, the event held a fantastic drone show each night last year, slathering the night sky with interstellar visuals and production. Under the neon lights, fireworks, and electric sky, attendees can leave the outside world behind and enter a new one.

For those that may not make it, performances may be expected to stream via broadcast and radio. So, stay tuned for that update as we follow closer towards the event. Previously broadcasted livestreams included performances from KineticFIELD, circuitGROUNDS, neonGARDEN, bassPOD, cosmicMEADOW, and stereoBLOOM.

GA and VIP passes are sold out. However, you can still snag a GA+ pass here. Hotel EDC packages are also available here. Tune in at insom.co/lineupreveal and join your fellow Headliners in piecing together EDC Las Vegas 2025!

The official FSOE Instagram page attributes the discontinuation of the event solely to the promoter. “Circumstances beyond our control” has been primarily attributed to the cause of cancellation by the label. This is contrary to their intentions is what it intends to clarify. “FSOE was fully committed to proceeding with the event” as a noteworthy point to note.

User’s Lecture Of The Situation

People appear to be on FSOE’s side on this one. As a matter of example, one of the top comments on said Instagram post reads as follows: “It’s common knowledge that NSW Police charge tens of thousands of dollars more than their counterparts in other states to patrol events such as these. I was told that the organisers needed 5,000 attendees just to break even after the police fees for security and sniffer dogs, as well as the cost of medics, land tax and private ferries.“

They then follow with “The promoters could have done a better job in marketing the event, but when you have examples of a festival where the NSW police charged $67,000 for patrolling a 22,000 crowd, VIC police charging only $7,500 for a crowd of 30,000 and Queensland police $37,000 for a crowd of 20,000, it’s not unreasonable to suggest that the music scene in NSW is being unfairly targeted as a cash cow for police coffers“.

Refund inquiries are to be directed to the event promoter as per the official announcement. FSOE Australia was scheduled to take place on Sydney’s Cockatoo Island. It would have seen the likes of Alex M.O.R.P.H, Aly & Fila B2B John O’Callaghan, Ferry Corsten, John 00 Fleming & Roger Shah gracing the stage.

“Breathtaking” is the word we’re after right now. Or perhaps, “unexpected“. What about both? Trance legends Aly & Fila have been among the leaders of the scene for a long handful of years. They elevated the Egyptian sound to Uplifting Trance and beyond. And by doing so, they opened a space for that sound in the market.

Their radioshow, named just like their largest record label, Future Sound Of Egypt (FSOE), is, just like Armin’s ASOT, Ferry’s Corsten’s Countdown, and many more, a weekly happening showcasing the latest of the genres their labels span. And every year they celebrate another 50 episodes, in a go-big-or-go-home fashion. This year, it’s time for FSOE 800.

FSOE 800: The Homecoming

For their eight-hundredth Future Sound Of Egypt, they’ve chosen to return to where it all started: Egypt. Labelled ‘The Homecoming‘, this celebration will feature pristine Trance the way only Fadi and Aly can present. And if that wasn’t enough, they’ve chosen to take their milestone show all the way to the Great Pyramids of Giza, for a journey through music, unity, and intense history.

Joining Aly & Fila for the first time are, arguably, the most notable trio of all Electronic Music, living legends Above & Beyond, founders of Anjunabeats, and owners of the weekly radioshow Group Therapy. The lineup also features Das Pharaoh, FSOE UV owner Paul Thomas, and an impeccable back-to-back set courtesy of acts Ahmed Romel, and Philippe El Sisi & Omar Sherif.

Pre-registration is a must in order to get access to early bird, discounted tickets. If the Pyramids call your name and you wish to live the FSOE experience back home, visit this link to join the list.

‘Luminescence’ is a collaboration with Bryn Liedl and is a melodic track led by vocals. It’s emotional, captivating, and envelops you in the best of melodic house and techno. Scintillating synths and percussion give off trance-inducing auditory pleasure. If you liked this, just wait to see what he comes up with next.

He says we can expect to see a lot more music on UV and other melodic techno and progressive labels in the coming months. What’s more, Das Pharaoh is already on tour! He’s scheduled to play in Ibiza on July 15th and then in Amsterdam on October 21st. He plays back-to-back with Paul Thomas. Get your tickets and let us know how it is. Hopefully he brings this to the States for long-time fans to enjoy as well.

“I have been working in the background on a new sound for the past 4 years. It’s something that I’ve really enjoyed as an artist, to be able to experiment on something different. Now the time is right to start this new alias after years of hard work on the music. Of course we will still continue to deliver the sound you all know and love from us as Aly & Fila but this project will be something extra going forward.”

For more Aly & Fila, check them out in Budapest at the Akvarium on June 18th. Then again in Vietnam for an open-to-close show on July 2nd. In addition, see them at Nature One Festival on August 6th, one of the most famous festivals in the world.

On Disc 1, we have a mix of deeper cuts to some melodic and uplifting ones. It opens with ‘Echoes’ by Armin, and flows into tracks by Scorz, Dokho, Yvvan Back, Audien, Ruben de Ronde, Kyau & Albert and so much more. Volaris‘ ‘Through The Night’ slows the tempo about halfway through until we start getting back into it with Ahmed Helmy’s ‘Afterlife’. ‘It’s Not Too Late’ is an emotive piece by This Culture and following this is Kryder’s ‘Piece of Art.

On Disc 2, notable tracks for me include ‘Shadows’ by Allen Watts and ‘Revolution’ by Davey Asprey. This side features tracks from Rub!k, C-Systems, Ben Gold, Simon Patterson, Richard Durand, Ivan Mateluna, UDM, and many more. Chase the tech-trance thrills on this side as Sneijder, Maarten de Jong, and David Forbes close out the second side. Of course, we cannot forget a little bit of Aly & Fila in the compilation as well with ‘Euphony’.

An outlet. An escape. A way to leave all worries behind and seize the moment. That’s the role trance music plays in the lives of so many people. Even when times are at their grimmest and dark thoughts are taking over, it’s the uplifting atmosphere and hands-in-the-air euphoria that offer relief and comfort to all who need it.

Hot off a successful ASOT1000 show at the Banc of California Stadium, Armin van Buuren is not stopping. Listen to A State of Trance 2022 below.

Prydz first debuted his exhilarating, innovative stage at Tomorrowland’s first weekend in 2019. Its intricate design could not be brought back in 2020 due to the pandemic or to Creamfields in 2021. But now, Creamfields celebrates 25 years of life where 50,000 attendees are welcome for a two-day camping festival extravaganza. This is going to be a “game-changer for the UK festival landscape.”

Now, CF South already announced their lineup as well. It’s going to be one of the dance world’s most revered audiovisual shows, according to Billboard. Heavy hitters include Fisher, Fat Boy Slim, Oliver Heldens, Andy C, Pete Tong, Paul van Dyk, Idris Elba, and many more. All things house, techno, jungle, trance, and beyond await you. Creamfields North will take place from August 25th-28th and host artists of the same echelon. Those include Above & Beyond, Nina Kraviz, Armin van Buuren, Camelphat, Carl Cox, David Guetta, Martin Garrix, Tiesto, and more. North takes place 30 minutes outside of Liverpool.

Lastly, the event is pulling out all the stops for their anniversary and we can’t wait. Attendees can enjoy a weekend amongst an iconic backdrop, for this multi-stage festival. Not to mention the 15,000 capacity Steel Yard superstructure will bring all the vibes and a once-in-a-lifetime experience. Check out the full lineup below. Get final tickets Friday, January 28th at 10 am GMT.

Some say that you can listen to these sets in lossless quality on Apple Music for that pristine listening quality. Seeing as how normally the YouTube videos take from the live streams and have buffering issues, this may be a better option. 12th Planet, Jason Ross, Aly & Fila, Grum, Nitti Gritti, Alpha 9, Dubfire b2b Nicole Moudaber, Lil Texas, and others are on there. Others have reported that Seven Lions, The Chainsmokers, and Alesso are not. Neither are sets from Neon Garden and it might not be available in the UK either.

With the divide between Spotify and Apple Music streaming, users now find themselves deciding whether or not to switch. Since Spotify doesn’t have this type of feature yet, it might persuade others to join team Apple. Now, we will wait and see if Apple Music continues to upload sets from all the events, with the next in line being EDC Orlando 2021.

All you need to do is search “EDC Las Vegas 2021” and the sets should start popping up. We don’t know if sets will continue to be uploaded or if it’s by the choice of the artist. Either way, enjoy the ones that are available to you right now. Relive the moments and look forward to next year. The time for expanding music and business horizons is now, as we flow into a new year.
