The powerful duo have once again joined forces for a spellbinding release.
Music days are always good days — even more so with news like this one. Ørjan Nilsen and Mark Sixma, under their collaborative alias nilsix, have been creating exceptional Trance music. Their tracks have resonated with fans worldwide. Tracks like ‘Old’s Cool’ and ‘Anhedonia’ impacted the industry for all the good reasons, and this time, they’re back with more to offer.
They’ve just knocked on the door of Dreamstate Records to release their first body of work together, titled the Fired Up EP. This comes amidst the duo’s current run of high-profile sets, which include some of the flashiest festivals out there: EDC Las Vegas, Dreamstate, Transmission, Euforia Festival, A State of Trance, and Creamfields.
The Fired Up EP
nilsix’s EP is comprised of four dancefloor heaters which compile the best elements of Trance, Techno, and that Big Room Trance sound you could be used to hearing from the two massive figures that are Sixma and Nilsen. The four tracks are, in order, ‘Overture‘, ‘Fired Up‘, ‘Gone‘, and ‘Burned‘.
The title track takes the shape of a Peak-Time Techno weapon, sprinkling in a moody vocal hook into undulating synth leads, pad swells, percussive programming, haunting vocalizations, rippling accents, and a roaring resolution. The accompanying tracks are just as killer, as can be exemplified in ‘Gone’, a track that made it to our New Music Friday series back in April. The release has received radio support from fellow colleagues of the Trance and Progressive world such as Armin van Buuren, Maarten De Jong, Cubicore, Andrew Rayel, Markus Schulz, Jes, and Judge Jules.
