Skrillex Pauses Set as Stage Catches Fire at Primavera Sound

During Skrillex‘s highly anticipated set at this year’s Primavera Sound festival in Barcelona, a technical glitch caused a brief interruption when the stage unexpectedly caught fire. Despite the unexpected incident, Skrillex continued to deliver his craft to the thrilled crowd.

Skrillex, also known as Sonny Moore, had just taken the stage when a “technical error” led to a fire outbreak. The incident occurred during his performance of “Scary Monsters And Nice Sprites,” only three songs into his set. Thankfully, the situation was quickly contained, and no injuries were reported. Primavera Sound representatives explained that the fire was caused by one of the giant lights used in the performance, which was promptly extinguished by crew members.

After a brief pause to ensure the situation was under control, he swiftly resumed his performance and continued to captivate the audience for the remainder of his scheduled set time. It’s worth noting the irony that he played almost every song from his recent second album, “Quest For Fire,” adding an element of excitement to an already memorable performance.

Skrillex has been making waves in the music festival scene, garnering attention for his unique performances. Earlier this year, he even filled in for Frank Ocean at Coachella 2023, alongside Four Tet and Fred Again. The artist is set to make his highly anticipated return to Australia this September, performing at the Listen Out festival, where he will share the stage with a lineup of talented artists such as Ice Spice, JPEGMafia, Kenny Beats, Lil Uzi Vert, Malltat, and Young Franco.
