Skrillex teams up with Fred again and Flowdan to ‘Rumble’ the dance floor. We have definitely been awaiting this official release since the massive hit on Fred’s Boiler room set in August 2022.

This long awaited collaboration has a backstory, shared in an interview with BBC Radio 1. The demo was sans Skrillex was created five years ago by Fred & Flowdan. Fred played the track for Skrillex when they first met and it was one that was remembered. Fast forward time, Skrillex added his touch to this track and was scared to play it.

I did something and I didn’t like it. I thought I ruined the song

Skrillex said

Skrillex addressed rumors whilst speaking to BBC Radio 1,

There’s some controversy because we actually kicked [Four Tet] off the project. Four Tet is an honorary producer on everything we do.

To clarify this further, Fred commented on Four Tet’s contribution on Instagram:

Shoutout Kieran for announcing with no certainty that we had “fucked it”. There was no coming back.

The trio admitted that he was in fact kicked off the project despite Four Tet being speculated as part of it since the Boiler room release.

Flowdan had forgotten about this song and was left awestruck after the last few edits.

Other than hearing it online and on certain platforms and stuff like that, when I actually linked up with Fred again.. and Skrillex and he showed me the details that we’ve actually added to the song… there’s only one reaction I know that a real music lover’s going to have, And that’s tears

Flowdan recalls

In other news, we look forward to the surprise release from Skrillex later today ahead of his prospective double LP that he mentioned yesterday on social media.

Whilst we wait patiently for this new track, watch Rumble below.
