Retired Boeing 747 Turned Into Party Plane

In 2020, British Airways announced it would be retiring its fleet of Boeing 747 Jets. Private airfield Cotswold Airport thought to take advantage of this and bought one of the jets for just $1.30. Quite a steal if you ask me. This particular plane had seen 26 years in the air.

After 14 months of renovations, the jet has been turned into a party plane. The commercial section of the jet got stripped down. Now, it is an event space ready for dancing. The First Class area and cockpit remain untouched. Right when you need a break from moving and grooving, go on over and take a rest.

While it was super cheap to buy this plan, renovating was not. The makeover has cost nearly £500,000 ($671,000). Around $268,000 of that was spent on putting in a new concrete pad, and $107,000 on rewiring costs.

The best part is, it is available to rent! However, that is not cheap either. It can be booked for $1,300 an hour. But if you’re looking for a longer event, such as a wedding, it will cost $16,000 for 24 hours.
