Depeche Mode’s Andy Fletcher has Died at Age 60

Last week Andy Fletcher from the famous grammy-nominated band the Depeche Mode passed away. The well-known musician was only 60-years-old and it’s unclear how exactly he died.

DJ Mag first reported that the news circulated on the band’s social media channels. Moreover, it’s not an easy time for the band, who lost their keyboardist and founding member; here’s part of what they shared (complete statement below):

“We are shocked and filled with sadness with the untimely passing of our dear friend, family member and bandmate Andy ‘Fletch’ Fletcher.”

Fletcher originally curated the Depeche Mode with lead singer Dave Grahan, Martin Gore and Vince Clarke in 1980. The following year they released their first recording album, Speak & Spell and skyrocketed from there. Additionally, the group is in the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame and is forever one of the greats in music history.

Prior to Fletcher’s unfortunate passing, the group hasn’t performed since 2018, although their music never stops making waves. So continue to look out for tributes and memorials, remembering the late keyboardist and give the Depeche Mode a listen if you haven’t already.
