Carl Cox Featured in BBC Documentary “Music and Motorbikes”

A new episode of BBC “music and motorbikes” recently hosted quite the special guest: Carl Cox. The legendary DJ and producer talks in this documentary about dance music and his unconditional love for bikes.

The English-born producer has been a key player in shaping what we currently know as the electronic music scene. We can find his name on various flyers from the second summer of love and the first massive parties in Ibiza. Although until recently, few people knew his role in one of his greatest passions: the motor world, specifically motorcycles and cars.

Available to listen to now until mid-May, the interview in “Music and Motorbikes” between presenter, Rick Faragher and Cox immerse themselves in the early years of electronic music combined with a passion for motorcycles. The DJ mentions that he was one of the many acquaintances of the police in his youth years for his multiple adventures in cars, although he never had mishaps with them because of motorbikes.

“I kind of lost my license before I got a license… I was known to the cops. I liked the idea of going places, touring, having that camaraderie with my friends and getting there and getting back in one piece

His passion for motoring was such that in 2013 started a motorsport team named Carl Cox Motorsport alongside racer Michael Dunlop, which has gone on to gain its first title at Isle of Man TT in June 2014.

It can’t be true that this has happened to us already. I almost became a lucky mascot for him in that sense because that year he was phenomenal on everything.”
