Defqon.1 Drops its ‘Biggest Lineup’ for 2022 Edition

The premier hardstyle festival, Defqon.1, has revealed its “biggest lineup” yet in its first edition back since the pandemic. Organizers Q-dance announced a massive lineup for Defqon.1 Weekend Festival Primal Energy, which will be four days of madness for the first time ever. The festival for the harder styles of dance music returns to Biddinghuizen in the Netherlands from June 23 to 26, 2022.

“Weekend Warriors, we proudly present the biggest line-up in the history of Defqon.1,”

Q-dance shared on social media on Monday.

The more than 300 artists booked include Coone, Headhunterz, Sub Zero Project, Bloodlust and Andy The Core. Radical Redemption and Act of Rage are also bound to please fans. Some of the most popular segments will be back, including The Gathering on Thursday, The Closing Ceremony and Power Hour. Hardcore fans will not want to miss a live set from legends of Defqon.1. Q-dance is also introducing Fresh Fridays, boosting artists that fans may not already know. Each stage will be specially curated.

Weekend Warriors Return After Two Years

Since its induction in 2003, Defqon.1 has become the hardstyle highlight of every festival season. “Over 78,000 like-minded souls unite to become part of our sacred tribe,” according to Defqon.1’s website.

Defqon.1 was forced to postpone its 2020 and 2021 editions. Organizers held Defqon.1 ‘At Home’ in 2020 and tried to make 2021 happen, but the coronavirus made a live event unviable. At the time, Q-dance said, “It’s a matter of time, and while we have to hold on a bit longer, we can already assure you that Defqon.1 Primal Energy will be bigger, bolder, and more powerful than ever.” Organizers are making do on that promise.

Q-dance has created a 41-minute promotional video with highlights of past years on YouTube below.
