ARC Music Festival Announces Two-Day Expansions Event at Radius Chicago

Following its indisputably successful debut this past Labor Day weekend, ARC Music Festival has announced a two-day Expansions event at Radius in Chicago this spring. House and techno fans will get to dance to some of the biggest underground artists on May 20 and 21, before ARC returns for its full-fledged second edition in September.

“EXPANSIONS takes root at RADIUS, converting the entire space into a botanical oasis where digital & natural converge,”

Radius announced on Facebook.

A lineup with 14 artists unveiled on Monday includes melodic techno duo Tale Of Us and Detroit-bred Seth Troxler. English duo CamelPhat and another household name in the scene, Nic Fanciulli, will also spin. There’s two artists influenced by house and hip hop, Mat.Joe and Tiga. German duo Âme will play a live set. Also on the lineup are Anja Schneider, DJ Pierre, Hiroko Yamamura, Ida Engberg, Ilario Alicante, Justin Cudmore and Kevin de Vries.

What To Expect

Expansions is new, but for an idea of what to expect, the inaugural ARC festival provides a good read. ARC made its introduction at Union Park in Chicago, a birthplace of house music. Headliners included Bob Moses, CamelPhat, Cirez D and Eric Prydz and Hot Since 82. ZHU made an appearance, and among other heavy-hitters were Layton Giordani, Nicole Moudaber and Patrick Topping. It featured three stages: a main stage, a second stage for Elrow and a smaller Expansions stage. The Expansions stage, initially seeming underwhelming, was jam-packed hosting Cirez D on Saturday night. If that isn’t an indication not to underestimate Expansions, not sure what is.

ARC nailed its two-day first edition so well that in November, organizers announced it is returning Labor Day weekend 2022 with three days.

Tickets for Expansions go on sale on February 24 at 12 p.m. CT. Sign up for the pre-sale here.
