Making waves once again is none other than the Swedish superstar dj/ record producer, Alesso. He is doing such by the way of his latest tune, ‘When I’m Gone‘ with Katy Perry. Last month, we shared with you the original crossover track, which instantly became a fan favorite. Today, we bring you the exclusive VIP Mix. If you’re a fan of Katy Perry’s sultry vocals or Alesso’s top-notch productions, then this is a tune you’re going to want to check out.

Alesso is a producer who has come to be known for his stellar productions. While the original definitely continues this trend, his VIP Mix takes things to another level. After having given his VIP mix a listen, it honestly reminds me of something that you’d find on Martin Garrix‘s STMPD RCRDS. I say this, as the tune is a festival-ready banger, which features a heavy percussive lead. At 1:48 we do get some classic progressive house saws, paying homage to Alesso’s signature sound.
Once the second drop comes in however these saws disappear and are instead replaced with the percussive lead. Give the track a listen, to see just what I’m talking about. The mixture of Alesso’s productions, paired with Katy Perry’s stellar vocal work is something I hope to hear more of in the future. If this is any indication of the direction both of these artists are moving in, I’m all for it.
