Excision Releases Fifth Studio Album, ‘Onyx’

Today is the day many have been waiting for – the official release of Excision’s fifth studio album, Onyx. Released via Excision’s own Subsidia label, Onyx is the welcome follow-up to 2018’s Apex and a perfect way to kick off 2022.

The 17-track LP features collaborations with Sullivan King, Don Timmer, Kai Wachi, Kompany, and more, as well as several ID’s. ‘Cough Drop’ is one long-awaited ID that Excision has been sitting on for years, and fans can now rest easy that this head-banging masterpiece has finally seen the light of day.

On the trippier side of bass music is ‘Osiris,’ a stand-out track that will immediately induce bass face. ‘Temporary Blue’ offers up something completely different with its downtempo vibes and bubbling vocals by Natalie Major.

‘End of the World’ with Dion Timmer is a remake of the 1963 classic of the same name by Skeeter Davis. Featuring vocals by Donna Tella, the modernized track is melodic and uplifting, a break from some of the heaviness present throughout the album. But Excision doesn’t stop there with the melodic dubstep tracks; ‘Back to Life’ and the previously released ‘Salvation’ are both on the softer side, offering more atmospheric soundscapes for fans of Subsidia’s Dawn series.

Onyx comes just one week before Lost Lands 2022 tickets officially go on sale. You can get more info and sign up to be notified here.
