New Numark Standalone DJ System to Hit Market Soon

Numark is coming out with a full standalone DJ system and the price point is a mere $600. Yup, you heard it right, no laptop, flash drive, or speakers are required. All this baby needs is some WiFi.

It can access millions of tracks via TIDAL, Soundcloud, Beatport, Beatsource, and even your personal DropBox. You can still connect with your own personal collection of offline music with USB or SD ports. But the Numark Mixstream Pro eliminates the need to do so.

The system has a 7” touch screen, 6” jog wheels, 4 built-in speakers, 3 band EQ, 2 channel filters, and comes all on 1 solid unit. It is Ableton Link-enabled for syncing with external software like drum machines and sequencers. And it has basic effects, performance pads, balanced XLR outputs, and microphone and headphone jacks. You can even hook it up to sync with Philips Hue lighting in your home.

While 80% of DJs still carry their own collection of songs on an external hard drive. This new product signals a potential shift to streaming as a way to lower the high barriers to becoming a DJ. The Numark Mixstream pro is out of the box ready and operates on this “stream first, download later” principle.

This product will be available on the Numark Website in the near future. They have created a 90-minute tutorial for those who wish to get the most use out of it.
