Lost Lands & Firefly Campgrounds Close Due to Sudden Rains

It seems Lost Lands and Firefly Music Festival are off to a rough start as they face sudden rain in the areas. Due to the weather, both music festivals have closed their campgrounds to maintain the safety of campers and attendees. As if COVID in 2020 wasn’t enough, these rain events have been tormenting festivals throughout 2021.

Lost Lands Campgrounds Close Until Friday

Early entry campers were welcomed to the Legend Valley campgrounds on Wednesday, September 22. Throughout the day, they were met with unexpected rain, which led the campgrounds to close early.

Organizers expected the grounds to be dry by Thursday, September 23. However, they released an update this morning, announcing the camp gates would remain closed until Friday, September 24.

According to the statement, the rain and cool temperatures have led the grounds to remain wet, making it difficult for vehicles to drive over them.

In response to this sudden decision, attendees who have yet to set camp with their early entry passes will be refunded.

Despite the wet terrain, organizers are watching the weather forecast carefully for this weekend’s Lost Lands. So far, it looks like attendees will have some great weather with some cool nights.

Lost Lands will make another update sometime today. Stay tuned for that announcement.

Firefly Festival Campground Closes Until Further Notice

Firefly Festival is currently undergoing severe weather in the area. Due to the unexpected rain, organizers have closed camping tollbooths for the time being and are riding out the storm. Initially, they expected to reopen at 3 PM, but the end of the storm is still uncertain.

Organizers are urging campers at the grounds to secure their campsites, lower pop-up tents, and wait in their vehicles. Those who have yet to enter the site are being asked to seek shelter at places such as Dover Mall and Dover Downs Hotel & Casino.

Firefly Festival will release more updates as they have them. Stay tuned for those announcements.
