Spotify Will Let US Podcasters Charge for Subscriptions

Spotify keeps increasing its ways of monetizing content for US podcasters. The huge music streaming platform will let all US creators offer subscriptions. It is something that may increase considerably its revenues.

Although this feature is not new and since its launch, the premium option has been activated on 100 podcasts, it will be available for a wider range of people. Moreover, this brilliant feature will be available on September 15th. After a long time, subscriber-only content will be made available to international listeners. On the other hand, podcasters from the rest of the world will have to keep waiting until they get this improvement on the monetization tools.

For those looking forward to accessing the program itself, this feature will be available through Anchor. In case you didn’t know, Anchor is the podcast creation platform that Spotify acquired alongside podcast network Gimlet. Spotify brings wonderful news for its podcasters. On top of that, it also gives publishers the chance to reap subscription fees with no commission (for the first two years) from avid listeners. Spotify will definitely increase the number of podcasts on the platform.

Besides, Spotify will start also benefit from this new measure. They announced that they will be taking a cut of 5 percent in 2023. After finishing its test period, Spotify decided to introduce 20 new pricing options. That will let podcast creators plenty of flexibility.
