The music industry has exploded with event announcements and more over the last few weeks. Well, I take that back. We received news – but only news about cancelations and postponements. We’ve got some more positive things coming in! Next up, we’ve got BBC Radio 1 announcing a huge 4 day event full of artists and music we love. Beginning May 28th, we’ve got over 100 live performances coming to our ears.

Some of the biggest names will be participating in the event. Over half of the performances will be brand new live sets that were recorded exclusively for Big Weekend. In addition to that, 5 performances will be filmed on location at BBC’s Radio Theater.

From the electronic music world, we’ve got some heavy hitters that will be giving us all their all. On May 28th, we’ve got Eric Prydz (fresh off his dominating sets in Miami this weekend), Honey Dijon, Patrick Topping, Paul Woolford, and Solomun. Luckily, it doesn’t stop there. Feel My Bicep, Michael Bibi, and Blessed Madonna will also be performing!

Some non-electronic artists that will also be playing include Ed Sheeran, Anne Marie, London Grammar, Mabel, and Royal Blood! It was also showcase some previous performances from Rihanna, Harry Styles, Miley Cyrus, The 1975, Sam Smith, Foals, Lizzo, Dua Lipa and many more. A selection of tracks will also be available to watch on Radio 1’s iPlayer and YouTube channels, with a curated stream on iPlayer featuring select performances and artist interviews from Saturday – Monday.

“The new performances we have lined up are incredibly special, with the artists themselves bringing tonnes of energy and creativity, and we can’t wait to share them with our audiences across the May bank holiday.”
