Spencer Brown is out with two new tracks on mau5trap. ‘Spiderman On Ambien’ and ‘Stars’ take on tech trance with a darker tone for Spencer. Both tracks are fitting for the progressive house label.
‘Spiderman On Ambien’ is quite the name for a track like this. With a dark, brooding bassline coupled with an edgy melody, the track eerily carries on. It does sound chill and mysterious and may put you in a daze.
‘Stairs‘ first debuted at Brown’s Dreamstate set and is lighter than the first track. The ascending chords resemble the motion of going upstairs. So, the title is aptly named. It is progressive, with long drawn out builds. Will you ever reach the top? You have an original and an edit of this to find out. Comforting and angelic, the synths take you higher and higher.
Both tracks have a heavier sound than his Anjunabeats ones. We are excited to see this new sound he is unleashing. We have seen a slew of releases this year as we’ve followed him closely. This spicy, dark side of his is exciting. Based on the cover art, the friendly neighborhood hero can have these two tracks added to his soundtrack.
Giving us authenticity with accessibility, he never fails to give us ear worms. His fresh take on the progressive space continue to astound us with each new release.
