Beatport & Twitch Link Up For Exclusive Live Stream Partnership

It’s been a huge year for livestreams, especially with coronavirus still keeping events off our calendars. After much success with ReConnect, Beatport and Twitch have therefore decided to leverage this momentum, joining forces on an exclusive live stream partnership. This means Beatport will be bringing exclusive music and original programming to its Twitch channel, on which as of today, has amassed more than 48 million views.

We have learned that in addition to big global events, dance music fans are interested in expertly curated and hyper-local live streams as well. That is why we are committed to focusing a large portion of our live stream takeovers from local collectives; who are absolutely essential to nightlife culture globally, and now more than ever, need visibility during the global pandemic.

Beatport also plans to produce several weekly shows, created to showcase electronic music’s best talents. Specifically, one called ‘The Residency’ on Thursday evenings will provide artists to curate music sessions. Artists including Maya Jane Coles, Eats Everything, Kerri Chandler, Nastia, Who Made Who, and SAMA’ ABDUL HADI are slated to host in the coming months.

Sunday evenings will showcase electronic music collectives around the world. These include Boko! Boko! (London), Dome of Doom (Los Angeles), HE.SHE.THEY (London) and No Shade (Berlin). Meanwhile, industry legends such as Chris Lake, Chris Liebing, Francesca Lombardo and K-HAND will be sharing educational content through Studio Sessions. Tune in for behind-the-scenes access to their studios and creative process!

Another initiative – Beatport HYPE – will also give the spotlight to HYPE label artists. This includes Soft Computing, Sense Traxx, House U and Hotfuss. Meanwhile, leading labels such as Drumcode, Tronic, Toolroom, Soma, Ultra, Kittball and Stereo Productions will also present new music on the Label Showcases series.

“Beatport has been a key part of Twitch’s music growth over the past couple of years; driving the diversity and artistry of the electronic music industry in unparalleled ways,” says Will Farrell-Green, Head of Music Content at Twitch. “When events all moved to virtual this year, Beatport was one of the first to accelerate their programming on Twitch. We’re thrilled to
expand this partnership to continue connecting this group of avid electronic music fans globally.”
