Apple Announces Virtual ‘Time Flies’ Event for September 15

Apple has officially announced the date of this year’s special event. On September 15th at 10 am PT, the public and press will be able to watch the live event from around the world. Compared to previous years, the media would be invited to the Steve Jobs Theater in Cupertino, CA. Due to COVID-19, Apple will have to present their new products without an in-person audience. Nonetheless, what can we expect to see at next Tuesday’s event?

September is usually an important month for Apple as this is when new iPhones are revealed. In the last few months, we’ve seen several exciting leaks and rumors for the iPhone 12. Unfortunately, there are reports that the main focus of this month’s event will center around the Apple Watch and iPad. Bloomberg has stated that the iPhone 12 reveal will not occur until October. This still allows Apple enough time to ship devices before Christmas, assuming there aren’t any major delays.

It’s also reported that the press invites had the tagline “Time Flies”. As stated earlier, we’re expecting a good amount of time spent on the Apple Watch Series 6. The overall design is not expected to change but there will be several important new features. Multiple reports suggest the Series 6 Apple Watch will include blood oxygen level detection. In terms of the iPad, rumors suggest that Apple has upgraded the iPad Air. We’re hoping this mid-level iPad model receives similar features as their more recent iPads.

Where to Watch

All in all, it’s going to be an exciting stream to watch, even if we have to wait until October for the iPhone 12. The live event will be available to view on Apple’s website and YouTube. If you can’t make it Tuesday, it will be recorded for anyone to view at a later time. In the meantime, you can read more about the highly anticipated iPhone 12 here.
