Manchester Party House Locked Up For 3 Months

A Manchester home that hosted a lockdown party is undergoing a three-month closure for violating social distancing guidelines. An issued court order will only allow the property owner to access the home from now on.

A police helicopter flying in the area was able to obtain footage of the large gathering. Using heat-sensitive cameras, officers were able to confirm that about 200 people were in attendance. The Greater Manchester Police (GMP) and the Manchester City Council obtained a court order after the house party took place.

Insp Jim Adams of GMP states “This incident was completely unacceptable and incomprehensible.” He continues, “I am pleased that the court has accepted our application to extend the 48-hour closure notice to ensure that there are no further illegal large gatherings at this property.”

The organizer of the party was a 27-year-old woman. Although not the property owner, she has been issued a £100 fixed penalty.

Greater Manchester and other parts of Northern England continue to hold lockdown restrictions on social gatherings. These cities are under partial lockdown to prevent a possible second wave of the coronavirus. Therefore, those caught violating the regulations will obtain a large fine.
