There it is. Top 3 weirdest article title I’ve ever written. Madeon surprised us today with the video for ‘Miracle’, one of the best tracks inside his latest album Good Faith. Miracle got its official video today, and it is nothing short of breathtaking and beautiful.

After that announcement, Twitter EDM spent the next hours jumping around, filled with excitement. And now, we have it. One of the best videos I’ve seen this year. For one of the best albums of last year. The video was directed by Lena Headey, known for her role as Cersei Lannister in the popular HBO mega show Game Of Thrones. Starring in the video is also a familiar face for the HBO Show fans. Maisie Williams, known for portraying Arya, one of the show’s most loved characters. On a series of tweets, Madeon told the story behind the video’s creation:
“A few months ago, while I was on tour, Lena Headey reached out about making a video for Miracle. Maisie Williams quickly joined (they had both met on the set of Game of Thrones). Her vision was so clear, it was very different from the way I’ve illustrated the universe of “Good Faith” up to that point but that’s what made the idea so fascinating They focused on the drama of the music and made a beautiful video. I’m very honored that my music inspired them!“

Well, I mean, that’s one thing Madeon shouldn’t worry about. The list of people his music has inspired, myself included, is as extensive as it gets. But, well, if my music inspired such a beautiful and amazing music video I would also feel honored. Headey’s vision tells the story of two loved souls being torn apart from death, and the ascension of a soul into the great beyond. Portraying each and every one of those feelings is Maisie Williams, and trust me, she delivers. You can watch this new masterpiece from the 3 of them below!
As I said before, this is an unexpected combination. Madeon pairing up with two Game of Thrones stars was not on my 2020 bingo. However, the result is just perfect. Certainly, a masterpiece. Undoubtedly my favorite 2020 video. Madeon, you did it again. Congratulations as well to Lena Headey for the amazing direction. And to Maisie Williams for that outstanding acting. They came together and, as a result, gave us one of the best masterpieces of 2020.
