Don Diablo Plays Live Arena Show

As lockdowns and stay home orders have been lifted, people have been eager to get back into their regular daily routines and enjoy things that they’ve missed. However, since COVID-19 remains a health threat, it’s essential that everyone still continue to take safety precautions. Across the world, we’ve seen an increase in live music events return. So far, there has been drive in shows and small scale socially distanced shows. However, Don Diablo had a much different idea in mind. He posted to social media, bragging of playing a sold out ‘Corona proof’ stadium in Europe. As a result, it caused confusion and concern among artists and fans.

The show took place at the Lanxess Arena in Germany, and attendees were put into socially distanced cubes. The venue states, “ARENA NOW! is currently a unique concept for live events in the LANXESS arena in Cologne. Taking into account a special hygiene and infection protection concept, viewers can enjoy their entertainment program live in limited cubes.”

However, in the photos that Don Diablo had shared on Instagram, it’s unknown whether attendees were wearing masks. It’s unclear what health and safety regulations the venue had in place besides reduced capacity and distanced seating. If fans choose to attend any music events now, it is up to them to ensure their own safety. The sooner we can flatten the curve means the sooner live music can resume.
