The popular music streaming platform, Spotify, has recently been adding new features to its app. Their most recent innovation, however, may be very exciting for listeners. The music platform has officially released a feature that can be really fun during the COVID-19 pandemic lockdown. Users can now “listen together” to music while completely apart.

Listening Together functions when one user begins listening to a song. A virtual globe appears and rotates to show other users listening to the same song simultaneously. Certainly, it is a fun feature that may even blow your mind. You may discover users who might just have the same music taste as you.

According to a statement made by Spotify about the new feature:

“Every moment, more than 30,000 people around the world press play on the same song on Spotify. Suffice it to say, listening connects us, even when we aren’t expecting it. Now, through our new global campaign, ‘Listening Together,’ we’re celebrating audio’s unique power to unite us—even when we’re apart.”

Spotify has made Listening Together With playlists that make using the feature much easier. They include songs from multiple artists such as Selena Gomez, Lil Yachty, Dolly Parton, Lennon Stella, Anitta, and Grimes.

As the Coronavirus pandemic continues to affect the world, companies have been forced to be creative. Surely, this has not been a problem for Spotify as they continue to be one of the most popular music streaming platforms.
