Diplo Performs Virtual Set For Fortnite’s New Party Royale

American DJ and producer Diplo joined the virtual race with a Major Lazer concert on Fortnite. This immersive set from the game took place last Friday night, May 1st.

Fortnite keeps bringing renowned artists to the platform like Travis Scott or Marshmello. Although the Jack Ü and Major Lazer member is not the first artist to team up with Fortnite, Diplo is the first one to perform with his real face and not a skin. Thomas Wesley has not stopped sharing a huge amount of streaming content during the quarantine. The spectacular appearance consisted of an embedded video and a futuristic, in-game festival space.

This whole show arrived in order to present Fortnite‘s new weapons-free Party Royale. The new game mode is available on a small virtual island. The goal of this new mode is to simply have fun without hurting anyone. Fortnite players can hang out and dance, amongst other non-belic activities.

You can watch the original 17-minute set in the video below.

The Coronavirus situation is affecting many industries. But video games are thriving, as Fortnite broke their own record—achieving breathtaking numbers like 12.3 million concurrent players during Travis Scott’s event.
