Small music events may make their return to Spain this June if lockdown de-escalation moves forward successfully. There is currently a four-phase plan that will hopefully allow the country to reach a “new normal. According to Politico, each phase is expected to last for about two weeks, specifically when certain principles are met.

On Tuesday, Spain’s Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez stated in a recent press conference that the country hopes for its lockdown to end by June. Phase 1 is expected to begin on May 11th, allowing restaurants and bars with outdoor spaces to open.

According to DJ Mag, small events should be able to return by phase two, which is expected to take place by the end of May. Cultural events will be able to occur in indoor venues. However, there can only be a maximum of 50 people within the space. Outdoor events will be able to hold 400 people, but social distancing guidelines must be followed.

Phase three is expected to occur by mid-June. Restrictions on bars, restaurants, venues, and theaters are expected to be lifted; Nevertheless, limited capacity policies will still be in place.

The coronavirus pandemic has made the possibility of normality very difficult. The future of events is still uncertain as the likeliness of the end of the sickness or the creation of a vaccine is still undetermined. Music festivals, such as Tomorrowland, Electric Forest, and Burning Man were recently canceled due to the pandemic. Hopefully, Spain’s optimistic approach towards the end of the lockdown will go according to plan.
