Get Lost Miami Postponed After Ultra Cancelation

The city of Miami canceled Ultra Music Festival last week over coronavirus spread fears and it wasn’t the only casualty. The neighboring city of Hialeah’s ban on public gatherings and has led to the postponement of another major dance music event: Get Lost Miami

Damian Lazarus, the DJ, producer and mastermind behind Get Lost, announced with “deepest regret” on Monday that the 5 a.m. to 5 a.m. rave will no longer take place on March 21 during Miami Music Week

“Our new location for the event that we have been working on for 6 months is based in the district of Hialeah, whose city officials last Thursday announced a ban on all public gatherings due to fears of the Covid-19 virus spreading,” Lazarus wrote in a Facebook post.

Get Lost Miami, put on by Lazarus’ Crosstown Rebels record label, was poised to have its 15th circus celebration session. The venue was to be announced. Lazarus in late January shared the “biggest lineup” with more than 70 artists. They included Diplo, Guy Gerber, Hot Since 82, Pete Tong, Bedouin, Seth Troxler, Carl Craig and himself.

“Moreover, my partners at @spacemiami & @iiipoints and I have consulted with city officials, law enforcement, health officials, fellow party promoters and loved ones and we have agreed that with thousands attending and so many people planning to fly in from around the world for @getlostexperience, we simply cannot take any chances with the health and safety of our party people and will not be seeking a new venue AND will not compromise the Get Lost experience in any form,” Lazarus continued in his Facebook post.

Get Lost Alternatives

Lazarus wrote it was “one of the toughest decisions” he has made in 20 years of throwing parties. He was “truly heartbroken” because he had planned “something incredible.” That was evident from the advertised opening reunion set by Visionquest and the sunset set by Kruder & Dorfmeister

Refunds will be offered to ticket buyers “immediately,” according to Lazarus.

He added that he will still be going to Miami and hopes to play other gigs he was booked for. Lazarus said Get Lost was postponed for 2020 but did not say until when. Miami postponed Ultra at Bayfront Park until March 26, 27 and 28, effectively canceling it for 2020.

Most music week parties are still going on March 16 to 22, including BPM Festival at Miami’s Watson Island.
