Well, it’s been a week now. A week filled with sad news for the EDM industry. Mexico, however, still can’t get over last weekend. A magical weekend. A weekend filled with love. The perfect weekend. That’s right, EDC Mexico was perfect in every way, and I’m so excited to finally be able to tell you how the festival’s first three-day edition went.
EDC Mexico, 3 Days?!
Last year, we received some of the best news Mexico’s EDM industry has ever received. EDC Mexico voted the fifth-best EDM festival in the world would finally experience its first 3-day edition. The last weekend of February 2020 would see the city and hundreds of thousands dance under the electric sky. With a massive lineup gathering over 150 artists, EDC Mexico had finally come of age.
EDC Mexico: Friday!
Finally, the first day came. Doors opened at 4 pm, and during the first hours, some of the biggest national talents took over the stage to light up the party. Leon Leiden, Noizekid, Bonhaus, and many more gathered EDC’s Mexico headliners as their magic behind the turntables opened this magic weekend. As the evening went on by, more and more awaited acts made their appearance. Melé delivered a magnificent house set that put all of Neon Garden to Dance. Said The Sky and Nitti Gritti both delivered bass primed shows, each with their own amazing style. Oliver Heldens, Wuki, Da Tweekaz, Kölsch, Vini Vici, Borgore, Deorro, Don Diablo and countless others made their appearance, each one of them determined to light the festival on fire.
Finally, the closing acts made their appearance. Amongst some of the best, we could find techno don Carl Cox, who delivered an amazing 3-hour set which filled Neon Garden completely, Zedd, closing Circuit Grounds once again, never disappointing, and a much-awaited b2b between Yellow Claw and Headhunterz. The first day would finally end, as the headliners went home to rest and prepare for an even better second day.

EDC Mexico: Saturday!
The second day, at least by me, would be defined with one word. House. Since the beginning, a powerful, house filled act such as Valentino Khan took over the mainstage to deliver a great set. Up next would be Cash Cash, who surprised with a set filled with a bit of everything. A couple of hours later, night fell over the festival as Jonas Blue handled his signature set in the mainstage.
After that, came the set which surprised me the most during the whole festival, Meduza. The Italian DJ responsible for mega-hits such as ‘Piece of Your Heart’ and ‘Lose Control’ delivered a perfect house set. Not touching the mic once, which was unexpected for me since I expected him to move more inside the mainstream side of house, Meduza was, for sure, an amazing surprise. Up next would be the popular duo Europa, made up by Jax Jones & Martin Solveig. The night would go on as more and more expected DJs such as Zomboy, Tiësto, Diplo, Svdden Death, Sasha, Kayzo, Duke Dumont, and Knife Party all made the people dance under the electric sky.
Finally, I decided to close day 2 with a duo I had heard so much about. A duo that inspires cult and worshipping in the US. A duo that for sure defines today’s bass industry. Zeds Dead. God damn. What an amazing set. I now understand you guys. This two handled a perfectly crafted set. Filled with amazing beats, powerful bass, beautiful songs, and a couple of guests, Zeds Dead was the perfect way to close Wasteland and day 2.

EDC Mexico: Sunday!
Well, we made it! Day 3 of EDC Mexico. The final day of an amazing adventure. As we entered the festival, we were all excited. The last day’s lineup had saved some of the most awaited acts. Industry titans such as Armin Van Buuren, Ekali, KSHMR, JAUZ, NGHTMRE, and David Guetta were here to take over Kinetic Field. Dance legends such as Joris Voorn and Enrico Sangiuliano awaited inside Neon Garden. Ben Nicky’s Extreme, Lil Texas, and Tweekacore were bringing the fire to Wasteland. Stereo Bloom would be the house to some of the biggest house exponents of the moment, such as Dombresky and Wax Motiff. RDHS and a wave of national talent awaited to write their name in the letters of one of the biggest lineups in the world at the XX Stage. And finally, my personal favorite, Circuit Grounds.
The stage’s lineup included some great names such as JOYRIDE and Troyboi, and on top of it, two of the most expected acts of the festival. Louis The Child’s “Here For Now Tour” and Madeon’s “Good Faith Tour“. Two Live acts. Both Fresh, new acts. Both heart touching and spirit-lifting acts.
Day 3 was amazing! After catching national talent Mariana Bo, we were gushed by LSDREAM’s bass vibes and mind-destroying sounds. After that, Ekali took over the stage and made us cry and rage as hard as we could. Props to both of them. After that, TOKiMONSTA and Big Wild both surprised me with their respective sets, filled with house, trap, and a genre I wouldn’t be able to identify (Sorry BW, amazing set tho). After this, it was house time. First, JOYRIDE. A strong dosage of bass house prepared us to walk right into Dombresky’s french house. If you like house, you have to listen to ‘Soul Sacrifice’ live at least once during your life. After these two dons gave a class, we were ready for the big finale.
The Finale
I waited for 4 years, and finally, Louis The Child came back to Mexico. Not only that. They delivered the most beautiful live set I’ve ever seen. Such love. Such happiness. Filled with amazing messages, and inspiring you to live your life because you’re here only for this moment, Louis The Child won my heart again. Not that they ever lost it, I just wanted to make clear that I love them.
After this great, perfect set, Madeon took onto the stage. We had been expecting the ‘Good Faith Tour’ in Mexico for a while, and we finally got it. Nothing but love and respect for Madeon. He has crafted a beautiful experience, and he deserved to close such a beautiful festival. In the end, the last song we heard was ‘Shelter’, and, for a moment, everything was okay in the world. Thank you, Madeon.

In Conclusion
EDC Mexico has come of age, to put it that way. Mexico deserved a 3-day festival, and we finally got it. Over 300 thousand people gathered to dance under the electric sky for 3 days. Over 300 thousand people were happy for 3 days.
