Beatport’s 34-Hour Live Stream Marathon Raises Over $180,000

Music unites all. And there’s no better proof of that than with ReConnect, Beatport‘s live stream marathon last weekend. Bringing in 8.5 million viewers over the course of 34 hours, the global music event successfully raised more than $185,000. Proceeds went towards the AFEM (Association for Electronic Music) Members’ COVID-19 Hardship Fund and the WHO’s COVID-19 Solidarity Response Fund.

More specifically, funds will be used to “help struggling AFEM member companies retain lower earning workers who would otherwise be let go, and to direct funds to individuals within the membership in most need of urgent financial help.”

It’s never too late to help those in need — Beatport’s donation link is still open if you’re interested!

Beginning on Friday, March 27, the star-studded live stream marathon had featured some of the industry’s biggest names, including Carl Cox, Nina Kraviz, RÜFÜS DU SOL, Nora En Pure, and many more. The event was originally meant to last 24 hours, but that was then extended with Afterhours sets. That had included sets from the likes of BLOND:ISH, Paul Oakenfold, and Pete Tong.
