New ‘Road To Desert Hearts’ EP Series Kicks Off With Porky’s ‘Chameleon’

As we move into the new year, festival season is getting closer. And that means it’s almost time for one of our favorite annual events. Desert Hearts Festival, happening in April at their Los Coyotes Indian Reservation home, is fast approaching. Ahead of this weekend celebrating house, techno, and love, the crew – Mikey Lion, Lee Reynolds, Marbs and Porky – is sharing a new EP series titled Road To Desert Hearts.

The series intends to highlight the unique sound of each of their artists, and you can expect to see new tunes from all four soon. Mikey explains:

“In 2019 we spent a lot of time releasing music from our family and friends so as we kick off 2020, we’re releasing 4 EPs back-to-back in February and March from our core four Desert Hearts Founders. Porky, Lee Reynolds, Marbs, and I have been grinding in the studio and have a ton of music planned for 2020 so be on the lookout!” – Mikey Lion

The first release of the series comes from Porky and label friend Mitch Dodge. Titled ‘Chameleon’, it’s a two-track release with a groovy underlay and dives into psychedelic synths and tribal percussion explorations.

Next up, you can keep an eye out for Lee Reynolds’ Long Weekend EP. That’ll be followed by a March release from Mikey Lion, and rounded out with Marbs’ first release on the label in three year. Marbs has been an incredible player in the techno world over the last few years with the launch of Desert Hearts Black with Evan Casey. He’s has been making serious waves in giving Desert Hearts a reputation for its darker side.
