Pendulum Plays Out First New Music in a Decade

Pendulum Trinity dropped off an early Valentine’s present to fans when they debuted their first new track in 10 years. Lucky fans of the drum and bass group were the first to hear the track titled “Nothing For Free” live in Perth, Australia on Thursday.

Having originally formed in Perth, the location seems entirely fitting to show off their new sound. The performance was under Pendulum Trinity, a concept announced in 2019 which represents new material, new performance production and a new album. Pendulum Trinity reunites the original three members including Rob Swire, Gareth McGrillen and El Hornet.

We’ve been eagerly awaiting to hear new material since Pendulum officially announced their reunion. Earlier in the year vocalist Rob Swire had teased fans with a short clip on Instagram.

In an interview during 2019 with Apple Music’s Beats 1, vocalist Rob Swire discussed the impact of the near 10 year break and the need to reinvent Pendulum’s sound. While there is no specific timeframe for a new release, we’re hoping something is imminent.

Pendulum Trinity’s next show will be in Sydney on the 21st of February.
