Michael Bloomberg Hires Former Fyre Media For Meme Campaign

Influencers and politicians both love good publicity and engagement. If you’re active on any social media platform recently, you’ve most likely seen some sort of advertisement from Michael Bloomberg. What you might not know is who’s the face behind the social media meme campaign for him.

The success behind the social campaigns of Fyre Festival, Jerry Media, is now helping Michael Bloomberg. Bloomberg is working with on an Instagram meme campaign with influencers who have major followings. However, Bloomberg isn’t afraid to be made fun of. He doesn’t attempt to censor what can or can’t be posted about him and allows for creative freedom.

Additionally, the campaign also extends to small micro-influencers. People with 1,000 to 100,000 followers are offered $150 to create original content on “why Mike Bloomberg is the electable candidate who can rise above the fray, work across the aisle so ALL Americans feel heard & respected.”

Bloomberg is the first candidate to create a social media strategy that specifically targets the younger age group. So far, there’s been mix feedback received. Some people dislike the prevalence of the advertising while some enjoy the humor in it and find it refreshing.

This will be interesting for future presidential campaigning. Candidates are now understanding the influence of social media and trying to use it in their favor.
