Diplo Reveals He Has Unfinished Collaborations with Juice WRLD and 6ix9ine

No stranger to unearthing emerging talent and working with the hottest in the game, Diplo has worked with some of the best in several genres. The Grammy-winning producer has now told how he’s sitting on collaborations with two more massive rappers in 6ix9ine and Juice WRLD.

Hip-hop is well within his comfort zone, in 2018, his six-track EP, California, took Diplo deep into a dive of hip-hop and trap. Working with rappers like Desiigner, Lil Yachty and Trippie Redd, the EP cultivated a superb intoxicating sound.

Unfinished Works

Naturally, he now sits on unfinished works with a number of rappers, and Juice WRLD and 6ix9ine are among them. Speaking with Complex News, he admits how the passing of Lil Peep and XXXTentacion affected his motivation to bring these works to light.

Diplo told how he saw what he was doing DJing in the young rappers he worked with, their fearless nature and drive. He went on to comment on a freestyle track with Lil Yachty and Juice WRLD, a really hard rap track unlike anything we’ve seen from Diplo before.

Juice WRLD stunned fans with his free-styling ability, with an appearance on Tim Westwood’s radio show in October 2018. Juice WRLD went on to freestyle over different beats consecutively for a whole hour, to Tim Westwood’s amazement.

With 6ix9ine locked away for a number of charges, and the tragic passing of Juice WRLD by accidental overdose at Chicago Midway Airport last December, it is two of the worlds biggest but most complicated artists to hold work with. As a result, it’s unknown if we will ever see these works make it to release.

Controversial rapper 6ix9ine

Diplo unsurprisingly made the headlines again over Miami music week, handing out free chicken sandwiches during his set at Club Space. Would you want to see him hit the headlines again with the release of these tracks, or another hip-hop EP?
