Tiësto’s Anthem ‘Adagio For Strings’ Turns 16 Years Old

There are some tracks that make a summer, others that make a year or two, and only few that define an era. Today we celebrate the birthday of Tiësto’s big hit ‘Adagio For Strings’.

16 years went by since the production was released (2004). And since then, it became one of the most iconic Trance and electronic music tracks.

If you saw Tiësto playing live, you maybe got the chance to listen to ‘Adagio For Strings’ during his shows. And you can probably confirm that the track is one of the Set’s highlights. The sound and melody of it bring back a golden era and so many memories of Electronic Music’s rise.

One of these impressive moments we witnessed was during the Tomorrowland Our Story, the 15 years celebration in Amsterdam. You can relive it here. Another one you might still catch again at Tomorrowland 2020 is the Symphony of Unity that played an orchestral version of the track.

In addition, it is worth noting that the track is a remake of the original ‘Adagio for Strings’ by Samuel Barber. And later, Tiësto’s version also got rebooted by Lucas & Steve in November 2018.
