Spotify Testing Stories Feature for Influencers to Use Video with Public Playlists

Spotify is testing a new Stories feature that will change the game for playlists. The new feature is allowing certain influencers to use video with their public Spotify playlists. The news was first picked up TechCrunch, with Spotify later confirming.

At the moment, Spotify is not sharing the new feature with artists, but instead selecting vloggers like Summer Mckeen. Notably, Mckeen is a YouTube makeup and fashion vlogger who has just over two million subscribers on both YouTube and Instagram, and an impressive 126,455 Spotify followers.

In a statement to TechCrunch, Spotify confirmed the new update:

“At Spotify, we routinely conduct a number of tests in an effort to improve our user experience. Some of those tests end up paving the path for our broader user experience and others serve only as an important learning. We have no further news to share on future plans at this time.”

Spotify is Also Adding Looping Videos to Instagram Stories

TechCrunch also confirmed more exciting news yesterday. Spotify will be integrating looping videos on Instagram. The integration with Spotify via Canvas will assist thousands of artists. Furthermore the artists will now be able to share their looping videos to Instagram Stories with just a tap. Be on the lookout for more video integration with Spotify and Instagram.
