Crystal Skies Talks About Playing PUBG with Illenium and the Release of their Debut EP

We had the privilege to sit down with Crystal Skies at the show in Brooklyn last month. The duo has been an up and coming force in the industry by bringing their heavy hitting tracks to shows all around the world. Their debut EP called Constellations has been their best work yet but more is to come for these two young producers. Check out our interview with Crystal Skies below and be sure to be on the look out for when they will be visiting a city near you.

Can you tell us about your new Constellations EP and how that came to be?

We’ve actually been working on a lot of those tracks on the Constellations EP for a while now. Initially I don’t think we were going to make it into an EP, but as it progressed, we kind of felt like the songs that we were putting together kind of had a similar arc to them. So we decided we’re going to package it together into an EP, and have it try to tell kind of a story.

Of all the songs on the Constellations EP, which one is your favorite track?

’Release Me’ is probably my favorite off of it, even though it’s not that heavy. It’s probably the least heavy actually but I had a lot of fun with that one. I think constellation is probably the work I’m most proud of so far. Yeah. Naming it was just as fun too, Britain was actually the one that came up with Constellations.

Being that this is your debut EP release, you guys must have been very particular when putting it together. When did you guys feel like it was finally ready?

We decided we’d put together an EP, it was just a matter of finishing it really. We went through a bunch of different versions of the tracks and I don’t think we were really happy with it until maybe like this Fall.

Well, speaking of releases, you guys recently put out a new remix of Tritonal’s track ‘Never Be The Same’, how did you guys come connect with those guys and how did you guys decide on the direction of the remix?

Well the, the, the original track was really good. That was kind of one of the reasons we wanted to remix it. They reached out to us and ask if we wanted to do a remix and of course we did but it’s funny cause the original track is kind of the drop that I would have made if I were producing the track already. But I am happy with how it came out because it’s definitely one of my favorite tracks at the moment.

You guys are currently signed to Ophelia Records and have recently announced an upcoming tour with MiTis. Can you tell me how the tour came to be?

We started playing League of Legends together and just became close friends. After a while, we just started discussing the idea of touring together but now was just thE perfect time to get started on our tour.

Have you played games with anyone else?

Yeah we play Pubg and Apex with Illenium. That’s where some of these friendships start just by playing games. I’ve been playing League of Legends for nine years. But yeah that’s pretty much all the artists I’ve played with.

Is there anything else you want to tell our readers?

It’s really been amazing to see the support that we’ve received from fans, especially like at our shows when we do our meet and greets. So just thank you to everyone who supported us.
