Man Dies Days After Rolling Loud Assault

Rolling Loud prides themselves in being the largest hip-hop festival in the world, with events all over the United States. However, with such a big event, it’s inevitable that there will be some incidents that occur. A 23-year old father, Kalvin Sanchez, was assaulted while attending Rolling Loud in Southern California earlier this month. Sanchez suffered a serious head injury and had to be rushed to the hospital for treatment.

Unfortunately, he passed away on December 18th, four days after the incident. The autopsy determined that Sanchez died of subdural hematoma and blunt force head trauma. Additionally, the coroner’s office deemed his death a homicide. The assault and the circumstances is currently under investigation. There has been footage of several fights and assaults from the festival that have been shared. No suspect or motive has been identified.

Rolling Loud festival organizers have expressed their condolences:

“We extend our deepest condolences to the family and friends of Kalvin, who passed away last week. Our fans are part of our extended family and their health and safety is our number one priority. The incident is under active investigation by both LAPD and CHP and, as such, we are unable to comment further.”

Sanchez’s family has set up a GoFundMe to help cover expenses. He left behind his 3-year old daughter and 2-month old son.
