[Interview] R3HAB Talks 2019 Highlights, Latest Collab, and What’s Coming in 2020

Dutch powerhouse R3HAB is responsible for some of the biggest dance anthems such as ‘Tiger’, ‘Samurai’ and ‘Lullaby’. His electrifying electro house style has garnered him support from millions of fans around the world. In 2018, he had a shift in musical direction as seen in his album, The Wave which showcases his most enthralling and emotional pieces yet. On top of releasing countless tracks that have left their mark in the Beatport Top 100, he’s also found time to establish his own CYB3RPVNK label.

It has definitely been a monumental few years for Fadil and it doesn’t look like his momentum will stop anytime soon. His single ‘All Around The World’ is getting recognition worldwide with over 160m streams on Spotify. Amidst his North American Tour, he also delivered his scorching collaboration with pop sensation ZAYN titled ‘Flames’.

We had the opportunity to sit down with Fadil before his sold out NYC show to talk about 2019’s highlights, his recent single and what’s in store for 2020.

Thanks for taking the time to chat with us. it’s been a crazy year for you. You’ve released a ton of new music and played all around the world. And now to close out 2019 with a bang, you’re currently on your co-headlining North American tour with Cash Cash. What are some defining highlights of the year for you?

I think ‘All Around the World’, selling out the New York show tonight, and the record with Zayn Malik for sure.

Your single ‘Flames’ was released earlier this month, can you tell us a little more about the song and how collaborating with ZAYN was like?

Working with Zayn and his vocals was phenomenal. I think the lyrics speak for itself. Sometimes you have to ask someone to let you go just because it’s better for the relationship.

Are there any non edm artists that you would like to work with next?

I would love to work with Ellie Goulding. I’m a big fan of her.

You also run your own label CYB3RPVNK, how do you balance running a label while also touring and producing?

I love music so I always find time for it. If you love something, you will always find time and space for it.

What’s in store for 2020? Any upcoming tracks or big projects?

My new album will be hitting next decade. Either in the quarter one end or quarter two beginning.
