III Points Festival Returns to Miami With A New Date

III Points will be making its return to Miami in 2020. The event will take place at the Mana Wynwood yet again; however, it will be on a different date. Although the weekend-long festival took place Valentine’s Day weekend this past year, they will be moving it to May 1-2 in 2020. Superbowl 54 is supposed to take place in February, and the city will need all its resources for the major event. Sorry music lovers, I guess this time football takes priority.

This is not the first time the festival has changed its dates. In 2016, III Points took place in October, but the event almost canceled due to Hurricane Matthew. The festival still took place, but some performing acts didn’t even show up due to the weather. After returning in 2017 and a hiatus in 2018, festival organizers strategically changed the date to a less stormy time of the year for 2019. All in all, the dates have never been super consistent, but May seems to be a good move.

2020 will mark the festival’s 7th installment. Its upbringing is unique, in which their website explains the event as a “grass-roots approach to building a festival experience”. Their lineups include local up-and-coming artists as well as major names in the industry. Some of their past lineups have featured artists like Tyler the Creator, Richie Hawtin, LCD Soundsystem, RÃœFÃœS DU SOL, and more.
