Looks like those Reddit rumors weren’t far off. On Monday Reddit started circulating rumors that Ultra Music Festival was going to drop its lineup on Wednesday. Many swatted it down as being too early, but then Ultra 2020 surprised us all by dropping the lineup early Thursday morning.
The lineup drop was tipped off when Flume got ahead of the announcement. In announcing his Grammy nomination he let slip that he was headlining Ultra 2020. Joining him are live headliners Gesaffelstein, Major Lazer, and Zedd. The DJ headliners are full of B2Bs this year. We’ve got Adam Beyer [] Cirez D, Dubfire b2b Nicole Moudaber b2b Paco Osuna, Jamie Jones b2b Carl Cox b2b Special Guest, Jauz b2b NGHTMRE, Maceo Plex b2b Carl Cox, and SLANDER b2b Kayzo. Rounding it out are Above & Beyond, Afrojack, Amelie Lens, Armin, Carl Cox, DJ Snake, Eric Prydz, FISHER, Martin Garrix, Richie Hawtin, and Tale of Us. Ultra, as usual, is full of exclusive performances on this lineup.
Now let’s break down the other interesting tidbits in this lineup drop. As already announced, the Megastructure will be reserved for Resistance techno all 3 days and Resistance will occupy its own corner of the festival. That means the former site of the UMF Radio stage will also be Resistance. Armin’s A State of Trance will be moved to another stage on Saturday and NGHTMRE & SLANDER’s Gud Vibrations will be taking over the UMF Radio stage for one day.
No new stage news yet, as we don’t know about other Resistance stages, the ASOT location, or the UMF Radio location. Don’t forget that this is only phase 1, and there’s plenty more to come in terms of lineup and stage announcements before March.
