One of Germany’s leading EDM festival, New Horizons has just announced that it will go on hiatus in 2020 to “craft our future vision for [the festival]“. Aiming to bring fans “the biggest and best New Horizons yet in 2021,” the creative team will be taking the festival to “a brand new location” with an “exciting new innovative approach“.
Communicated on its social media channels and official site, the statement also promised refunds for those who have purchased tickets during the initial loyalty sale back in September.
New Horizons saw its first edition in 2017, and has grown exponentially since then. By 2019, the festival had hosted up to 85,000 guests over a course of five days at the iconic Nürburging racetrack. Just like the size of the crowd, the lineup has also grown substantially over the years. Last year, headliners of the festival included Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike, Don Diablo, Major Lazer, Martin Garrix, Project One, Timmy Trumpet and Vini Vici. Featuring more than ten stages, New Horizons intended to and successfully catered to all music tastes.
While fans will undoubtedly be disappointed by the news, we most certainly have faith that whatever the creative team behind New Horizons has in mind for 2021 would be well worth the wait. While the 2019 Official Aftermovie has not yet been released, here’s a quick look at what Day 2 of the festival this year had been like!
