Mat Zo presented us with one of the best drum & bass songs we’ve heard in a while on ‘Games‘. The track is out now via UKF closing out their 10 year anniversary celebrations. Stepping away from the MRSA alias, Mat started to release drum & bass under his own name. Merely a while back, Bassrush took to releasing ‘Emotion Sickness‘.
‘Games‘ intertwines absurdly good sound design with unique composition. The artist is unmatched in reigning over an erratic diversity of sounds and genres which is part of his appeal. With the current release, it kicks off through clear toms, shakers, and a synth drone. From there, ‘Games‘ builds into activity as an inspired melody remains in the back. Preceding, Mat performed a drum & bass set for UKF on Air which is recorded here. He played out ‘Games‘ while other unreleased material lurked across the set.
