Jono Grant Wants People to Stop Obsessing about 138 BPM

Above & Beyond’s Jono Grant has some opinions how BPM relates to Trance. Specifically, regarding the obsession that 138BPM is the be all, end all for Trance. Grant took to Twitter to set the record straight.

He went on to clarify his point about the importance of BPM, but how it isn’t always the most important factor:

Well, Jono Grant has a point. Most people cannot even hear the difference between a BPM of 137 and 138 or 138 and 139. Furthermore, the subtleties of BPM can truly go unnoticed by the average listeners ear. So many additional factors come into play such as texture, groove, beat, harmony, and melody.

Ultimately, it is always interesting to hear artists speak out. Social media is a great outlet for expression, and allows fans and artists alike to make their opinions known.

Above & Beyond Headlining Atlantis Cruise

Beyond Twitter rants about BPM, Above & Beyond shared some exciting news earlier this month. They will be headlining the Atlantis Events upcoming 2020 LGBT cruise. The legendary trio will be performing this year in the ship’s Aqua theater. Some other artists booked include big names such as Galantis, Gareth Emery, Cosmic Gate, and Markus Schulz. This is a show you do not want to miss.
