Charlotte De Witte had to last-minute cancel her Saturday night’s show in Glasgow this weekend. The 27 years old explained the issue on Facebook, and how health issues were keeping her from playing. It turns out that the DJ’s very busy schedule and touring got the best of her, and that a break was needed.
Even with the apology and a substitute date, some of her fans were not happy about the last-minute change.
Things got even more heated when Charlotte posted a picture of her in Moscow. The frustrated fans figured if she was posting pics on social media she should be able to perform.
After this, Charlotte de Witte had to respond. She explained on another post that the picture was taken one day before the cancellation and how hard some comments were.
It is totally fine to be disappointed with this kind of cancellation. But shaming and blaming the artist for it is another level.
On the other hand, many fans showed support to the DJ on these posts. Hopefully, this understanding and awareness of what DJs go through will spread even more. The topic made it to the surface after the tragic story of Avicii, Hardwell‘s decision to stop touring and many DJs opening up about their struggle.
If you still want to catch Charlotte in Glasgow, a new date was set by the DJ and the venue for a new performance. It will be taking place on February 28th, 2020, more info about Charlotte’s tour dates here.
