Above & Beyond Stuns Crowd with Trance Classics Set at Dreamstate

A couple months back, the team at Dreamstate had announced that Above & Beyond would be playing a special 2-hour set at Dreamstate SoCal 2019. In retrospect, “special” is definitely an understatement. Now being labelled “one of their most legendary sets,” if not “THE GREATEST SET OF THE DECADE” among the trance community, Above & Beyond’s set at Dreamstate last weekend will definitely enter the trance hall of fame.

If you weren’t there, maybe it wouldn’t be the best idea to look at the tracklist, because the FOMO is real! The first hour featured banger after banger, including the electronic trio’s latest singles ‘Another Angel‘ and ‘Waltz‘. Even so, the second hour is where the ‘Miracle‘ truly happened.

To many’s surprise, Above & Beyond brought back trance classics that fans had not expected to hear, most certainly not live. Bringing back tracks like ‘Good For Me‘ and ‘The White Room,’ the trio left the audience in a trance-like state that the purest, most original form of trance intended to induce. Other crowd hits included their mix of Madonna’s ‘What It Feels Like For A Girl‘ and Solarstone‘s ‘Seven Cities,’ all of which brought fans down memory lane.

In an ironic little twist, this trance classics set comes just days after Jono Grant had tweeted that people should stop obsessing over the 138 BPM number. The number has typically been seen as a mythical prerequisite for a track to be categorized as trance. Regardless, Above & Beyond have definitely proved themselves legends of the trance scene.
