The Black Madonna Released From Amazon’s Music Festival Following Furious Tweets

Amazon Web ServicesIntersect Music Festival has sparked outrage since its announcement of the event on Thursday, October 17, 2019. Particularly by The Black Madonna who did not directly consent to her involvement in a festival owned by Amazon. She took to Twitter to write, “I absolutely did not agree to this. Oh hell no.” Additionally, she expressed, “Yeah. Uh. Would have been cool if any of us knew we were playing for them. Free scoop.”

If you missed her series of Tweets, you can find them below. She wrote that Amazon was not listed on any of the festival’s initial offers and/or related paperwork that her team received. Check it out below:

Today, Friday, October 18, 2019, a spokesperson for Amazon Web Services chimed in to share the following statement with Pitchfork:

Our affiliation of the Intersect Festival is clear in the contract that was signed by Black Madonna’s management team. “Amazon Web Services” was named in the contract five separate times, and throughout creative materials that were reviewed and approved. Regardless, we’ve decided to release her from her contractual obligation.

As you can imagine, The Black Madonna is still not holding back. She continued her furious posts via Twitter as of this morning, stating, “It’s not even mentioned on the offer I received. Why would I ever think someone completely different was doing this as a fully branded thing. It’s ludicrous. People don’t do this.” among much more. Find her Tweets below…

Furthermore, this morning we also saw the Japanese Breakfast, who is also scheduled to perform, give their two-cents regarding the circumstances. She wrote, “Everyone has the right to be upset,” among much more. Check it out below…

The Black Madonna has reminded us to take action on the things that bring frustrations to our lives, particularly when she stated, “By all means don’t wait for any actual information about the thing you’re outraged about. Don’t let the details or truth get in the way of talking shit about something you have zero knowledge of.” You go, girl!
