BREAKING: Shaky Beats Not Returning in 2020

Another festival heads to the graveyard. Shaky Beats Music Festival updated its website and social media platforms unexpectedly today explaining that it will not be returning 2020.

Shaky Beats was founded by Tim Sweetwood shortly after 2015. Tim saw a void in the Georgia-based EDM festivals since the downfall of TomorrowWorld and Counterpoint. The event attracted over 33,000 people to its inaugural year. That year featured artists such as Porter Robinson, Odesza, Big Gigantic, and Major Lazer.

Consistently, the festival has drawn big names and ran smoothly! This is why this announcement comes as a shock to many. Fans on Twitter are voicing their opinions about this sudden announcement.

The wording of the announcement is interesting, as well. While it states that the festival will not be returning in 2020, it does wrap up with “danced with us at Shaky Beats over the last few years”. We can more or less infer that Shaky Beats is cancelled permanently from that.

Many may say that Imagine Festival, which occurs at the end of the summer rather than the beginning like Shaky, is dominating the region.

Regardless, we hope some more information will be released soon to explain why this decision was made. Stay tuned.
