Steve Angello Says SHM Has Played 5 New Tracks Since Reunion

There has been a lot of controversy surrounding Swedish House Mafia lately. The Swedish DJ supergroup has been criticized by their fans for their lack of new music. Now, according to DJ/Producer and Swedish House Mafia member Steve Angello, we are learning there are more new tracks in the pipeline than we expected.

The Swedish House Mafia Return

After performing at Ultra Music Festival in 2018, the group began a world tour in 2019. During their first concert, which took place in Sweden, Swedish House Mafia premiered their new IDs, which later took the name ‘It Gets Better‘ and ‘Underneath it all’. However, many fans have bemoaned the lack of releases.

The Controversy

As Swedish House Mafia have embarked on their tour, their marketing tactic has continued to include a lot of teasing and hype building. Over a month ago, It Gets Better and Underneath It All began popping up on Shazam and the like. Fans took this to mean the tracks were almost finished. When the trio teased a big date at the end of their Creamfields set, most expected one of the singles to be released or announced. However no new music came.

New Music?

Back in July, Steve Angello made it to the EDM community headlines when he clapped back at a hater for criticizing Swedish House Mafia. The user called the trio a bunch of “money makers”. Angello replied back to let the user know, he’s not in it for the money while criticizing the “fast food thinking artists”. Now, Angello has called out a fan who criticized the lifetime pass Swedish House Mafia gave away.

So in his latest clapback, Steve revealed that SHM actually has played 5 new tracks since they got back together. We know about It Gets Better and Underneath It All, so what could the others be? On Reddit the fans seem to think a few of them might have been previewed during their Ultra 2018 set and were initially thought to be tracks from other artists. Only time will tell.
