Ultra Music Festival To Continue Eco-Friendly Campaign At 2020 Event

Today, Ultra Music Festival committed to continuing its ‘Mission: Home‘ environmental protection and sustainability campaign at next year’s festival. This campaign includes initiatives like the leave no trace policy, single-use plastic reduction efforts and recycling program.

The campaign prohibited beach access, increased water refill stations, and instilled a ban on styrofoam at the 2019 event. Other banned items include plastic straws, balloons, confetti, streamers, and merchandise plastic bags. They also distributed free pocket ashtrays to minimize cigarette litter.

Ultra Music Festival earned an “A” from a report card of local environmental organizations. “Ultra Music Festival sets the bar in festival greening”, according to the report. Before the event, Ultra said that their mission was “to preserve our home on Virginia Key, reduce our environmental impact and inspire our attendees to protect the planet.” This was evident during the festival.

Ultra will continue their efforts to help the planet into 2020 and beyond. You can read their full announcement here, find the full report card here and check out the fact sheet of the Mission: Home campaign below.
